A Saskatchewan Professional 'A' teaching certificate is required in order to be eligible to teach in Saskatchewan. You must also be registered with SPTRB to be eligible to teach.

Candidates must have:
  • Montessori training completed
  • Experience in an elementary environment and be comfortable teaching multiple grades and curricula (specifically grades 1-6) concurrently
  • Superior skills in long term planning, organization, data collection and assessment
  • An understanding of the importance of regular, consistent, formative assessment
  • Strong skills in collaborating with colleagues and families and the ability to form positive professional relationships with families and colleagues
  • Familiarity with Montessori materials and SK curricula and be comfortable using both in a complementary manner
  • Strong differentiation skills and familiarity with the RTI (Response To Intervention) model and have a repertoire of interventions and strategies needed to help all students experience success
  • A desire to continue to grow professionally
  • A passion for both SK curriculum and Montessori philosophy

Leadership and Managing Performance:

Education and Curriculum:
  • Ensure successful implementation of approved Montessori curriculum by ensuring quality educational programs.

  • Practice effective counseling and advising of students and parents while fostering a safe learning environment.
  • Experience in Montessori level transitions protocols, benchmarking, and individualized planning for advanced students.
  • Emphasize student’s achievements and create an environment that nurtures and promotes children’s development and well-being (mission driven).
  • Knowledge and experience in student progress reports, rubrics, and disseminating beginning of the year and end of the year student data.
  • Knowledge and experience in team processes for advancing Montessori Learner Outcomes.
  • Ensure all environments are maintained safely, in an organized manner, and beautifully to meet high quality standards.
Ideal Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) from an accredited college/university preferably in an educational field, combined with 5 or more years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a school environment (preferably Montessori).
