Bishop Hamilton Montessori School is a not for profit independent school offering a Christian Montessori education to 200 students in the Ottawa area since 1983.

Bishop Hamilton is seeking a teacher to join its Senior Elementary team to work with children grades 4 to 6. The ideal candidate is a teacher who has experience with children aged 9 to 12, is Montessori trained or knowledgeable about Montessori, and is passionate about creating an environment which meets the developmental needs of this age group. The candidate must be able to work well as part of a team delivering a quality program.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement lesson plans.
  • Plan and participate in field trips.
  • Manage and guide individual student behaviour.
  • Communicate with parents and members of the educational team regarding student needs and progress as needed throughout the year.
  • Maintain accurate records, including long and short term lesson plans, observations and student's individual progress.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents as required.
  • Prepare required written student progress reports.
  • Conduct formal parent interviews and other parent interviews at the request of the parents as required.
  • Participate in school wide events and activities, contributing to the School Community and spirit.
  • Attend department and staff meetings.
  • Provide a caring and nurturing atmosphere in the classroom and throughout the whole school.

Qualifications:
  • Montessori Elementary or Adolescent Certification is preferred or willingness to acquire training
  • Bachelor's degree in Education

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Brève description de la compagnie:
La Maison Montessori Kingston est une établissement Montessori établit à Kingston depuis maintenant 11 ans. L'établissement se compose de deux classes. L'une pour les préscolaires (30 mois à 6 ans) ayant 22 enfants et une autre classe pour les bambins de 10 enfants (18 mois-30 mois). Nous avons deux éducatrices Montessorienne, une directrice et une cuisinière et deux assistantes. Nous sommes à la recherche d'un/une éducateur/trice Montessori Francophone, dynamique étant à l'écoute des enfants

Objectif du poste :
L'éducateur/éducatrice devra mettre en place et présenter des activités Montessori pour une classe d'environ 10 enfants pour la classe des bambins

Principales tâches et responsabilités :
  • Mettre en œuvre et surveiller des programmes d'activités conçus pour les jeunes enfants.
  • Diriger les activités des enfants, notamment raconter des histoires, enseigner des chansons et préparer du matériel de bricolage.
  • Aider les enfants à prendre de bonnes habitudes pour les repas, l'habillement et la toilette.
  • Fournir à la direction des observations écrites sur les enfants.
  • Assister aux réunions du personnel pour discuter des progrès et des difficultés des enfants.
  • Assurer l'entretien de l'équipement de la garderie et participer aux tâches ménagères, si nécessaire.
  • Acheter le matériel occasionnel
  • Remplir le cahier journalier tous les jours, il doit contenir :
  • - Les incidents survenus dans la journée
    - Les présences (nombre d'enfant) les absences, les enfants malades si vous le savez
    - Les visites ou observation de parents ou intervenant extérieur
Qualifications requises :
  • Avoir au moins 2 ans d'expériences dans le domaine de la petite enfance
  • Avoir obtenu le diplôme Montessori 0-3 ans (AMI)
  • Prendre le cours de premier secours
  • Posséder une licence
Habiletés professionnelles requises :
  • Capacité à gérer son temps
  • Autonomie
  • Travailler en équipe avec l'équipe enseignante et les parents
  • Travailler dans le bruit
  • Démontrer de la flexibilité
