Salary: $58,000 - $70,000 CAD annually, depending on experience, qualifications and agreed responsibilities

Sea to Sky Montessori Society seeks a caring, collaborative AMI-trained Elementary Guide to lead our established classroom for children ages 6–12, supported by a classroom assistant. Responsibilities:

• Deliver authentic Montessori education aligned with BC curriculum requirements.
• Prepare an engaging environment that nurtures independence, curiosity and belonging.
• Observe and document progress, complete assessments and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with the classroom assistant and school leadership.

Qualifications:

• AMI Elementary Diploma (ages 6–12) required.
• Appropriate BC teaching certification or eligibility to obtain it.
• Montessori classroom experience and strong communication, organization and collaboration skills.

Optional Principal Role
Suitably qualified candidates may also assume the Principal title, overseeing Kindergarten and Elementary curriculum and associated educational leadership responsibilities. Scope and compensation will be discussed during recruitment.

Support
We offer financial assistance toward agreed professional development. For the right candidate, we will support the BC Teacher Regulation Branch certification process and explore LMIA and work permit support where required. Employment depends on obtaining appropriate teaching and Canadian work authorization.

Young Children’s Community (YCC) / Lead Guide

La Villa Montessori School is seeking a Young Children’s Community (YCC) assistant who will fill the Lead Guide position after shadowing the current guide for a period of one year. We are a charming community schoolhouse dedicated to fulfill the intrinsic needs of each child by following Dr. Montessori’s principles and the guidelines of the Association Montessori Internationale (A.M.I.).

Assistant’s duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Assist the YCC guide in carrying out goals, policies and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards
• Assist with supervision of children at all times in classroom, restroom and on playground
• Assist in equal share in joint housekeeping, class preparation, ordered arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom in cooperation with other staff
• Assist the YCC guide with documentation of daily needs, logs, parent communication journals and ongoing assessment documentation
• Assist care giving routines and implementation of health plans
• maintain a good rapport with parents leaving the child’s progress and pedagogical matters to the guide
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as requested
• Assist as a support staff in the school where needed
• Other duties as assigned with the transition of becoming the YCC Lead Guide

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Standard First Aid training
• Vulnerable Sector Screening
• 2 year’s experience and passion working with 0 - 3 age group
• AMI Montessori 0 to 3 Diploma

Mia Montessori Academy, a Recognised School as part of AMI Canada's Montessori Quality Assurance Program, is seeking an AMI Elementary guide to join our team from September 2027. Located in beautiful Steveston, British Columbia (a suburb of Vancouver), Mia offers Primary and Elementary programs. Our Elementary class consists of 30 students, aged 6 – 12, across both lower and upper elementary.

To be considered for a position, applicants must have:

• AMI Elementary diploma
• University degree and eligible for BC Independent School Teacher Certification (System Restricted)
• Experience working with a group of students across lower and upper elementary
• Current First Aid certification is a benefit
• French or Spanish language capabilities is an asset
