AMI Canada is looking for an individual to serve as webmaster for the AMI Canada website www.ami-canada.com

Duties would include preparing and posting updates to the website such as job opportunities, AMI events in Canada and abroad, additions to the publications available for AMI Canada members, parent blog entries, and others.

Other duties would include the management of email addresses/forwarding for @ami-canada.com and maintaining up-to-date backups of the website and all supporting data folders.

Experience in the creation and maintenance of an html/css website would be a definite asset. Knowledge of Montessori education is also an asset.

The AMI Canada website is based upon a professional, commercial, fully responsive (Bootstrap 3) html/css template with almost 200 fully coded template pages.

If required, AMI Canada will fund a subscription or purchase of necessary html/css editing software (such as Dreamweaver, e.g.).

L'École Filante Montessori opened in February 2016 and is run by a parent cooperative. It is located in a beautiful, natural setting in the heart of Nouméa. Today, the school hosts more than 20 children aged 3 to 9 in its two environments.

Our school is built around three pillars: Montessori, Positive Discipline and French/English bilingualism. In 2018, the school also developed, with all the children, a permaculture project and another project related to the Melanesian culture.

The teaching staff is comprised of a principal, who is a also guide for the 3-6 environment, an English-speaking 3-6 assistant, a young volunteer who is participating in both environments and a 6-12 guide.

L'École Filante is looking for:
  • A trained and experienced 6-12 guide
  • A trained and experienced 3-6 guide
We seek two guides with a Montessori diploma (trained or in-training), and with at least a first teaching experience in a Montessori environment.

The candidates should have a positive discipline approach and be capable of supporting the learning of the children under his responsibility. They will be responsible for guiding the children (possibly in collaboration with an assistant), but also to take part in the teamwork and school life, while reporting to the principal and liaising with all other teaching staff.

Type of contract: three year assignment or undetermined term contract, full time, starting February 2019
