Vancouver Montessori School is celebrating 50 years! We are accepting applications for the position of Administrator of Operations. VMS has 10 classrooms, student population of 230+ aged 3-13 and staff of 28. The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Works collaboratively with the administration team under the direction of the principal and with support of 2 administrative assistants and a part time office clerk.
  • Familiar with Montessori methods and principles
  • Experience in school management (registration, fee management, newsletters, student records, staff records, scheduling, arrangement of parents observations, conferences, education events, municipal requirements).
  • Familiar with excel, simply accounting, word, website input, bank statement reconciliation, policies and procedures creation.
  • Knowledge of BC Ministry of eduction and Child Care mandates and requirements (licensing, staff certification).
  • dedication to the success and care of the school and its staff, children and parents).

We offer a traditional Montessori three hour Uninterrupted Work Cycle in the morning and then embark on regular afternoon adventures in nature with our students. We are seeking a lead Montessori educator to teach our morning work cycle and head our afternoon Nature Study Program.

  • Montessori Teaching Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience

  • For those without a current BC Early Childhood Educator License: $21 per hour for the first three months, increasing to $25 per hour after three months.
  • Three weeks of paid time off each year.
